Wildlife Corridors

Background

Through mapping and analysis with Arrowwood Environmental and Vermont Fish & Wildlife, we have identified the most important wildlife corridors throughout town and have publicly identified some of these with highway signs. We encourage you to be aware and move slowly through these areas, and document your wildlife sightings at iNaturalist in the Mad River Valley Wildlife Observation Project.

iNaturalist

The Warren Conservation Committee initiated a wildlife observation tracking project that the entire Mad River Valley has expressed interest in, explicitly the Fayston and Waitsfield Conservation Committees. Therefore we have expanded it to include the entire Mad River Valley. We are interested in developing an Wildlife Atlas for the Mad River Valley to allow us to better understand where wild animals are, their corridors, their movements and their concentrations to help us gain insights on how to help protect their habitats.

This website is just for “Siting”, i.e. visual observations of wild animals you have seen.
